Viva Las… Hamptons? I Test Drive my Inner Preppy Style with Tommy Hilfiger Plus Size from Macy’s

Category: Plus size fashion
Length: Shorter
Idea: Let’s begin this with a few simple truths. First, I am a child of the 90’s. Second, I consider my default go-to style to be decidedly bohemian; comfortable boho with a side of cowboy boots. Third, when it comes to beach-culture of choice, I’m West coast -vs- East coast, all the way. So when I partnered up with Macy’s to showcase Tommy Hilfiger Plus Size fashions, I was ready (and excited) for the style challenge. Bring on the preppy! As a native New Yorker, Macy’s has always been a bit of a religion in my family. The 34th street flagship store was a mecca for my mom and, and as I have gotten older, I find myself turning to their website to snag the styles I can wear in my everyday life. Tommy Hilfiger is a fashion staple at Macy’s. Men’s, Women’s, Plus size – it’s pretty much a given that Tommy Hilfiger can outfit you and every person you know. The last time I really pondered Tommy Hilfiger, it was when Destiny’s Child looked like this…

Mermaid and Retro Vibes: Spring Swim with Lane Bryant

Category: Plus size fashion
Length: Shorter
Theme: Last week was the first day of Spring... or so they said. Meanwhile, my Uggs are still near the door and my worn-in hoodie is my go-to when I walk in the house.  So when Lane Bryant reached out to me to share some of their brand new swimwear for the season, I was READY to go! While I love the curled up and cozy feeling of a chilly day, the freedom of skipping on the beach in the perfect bathing suit is ALWAYS welcome! In this #sponsored post, I'm sharing two of my favorite picks from their Spring swimsuit line-up, dishing about the fit, and what you need to know! Disclaimer. Lane Bryant asked me to pick my favorite swimsuit... I picked two. They asked me to share pics of one suit, but I liked both so much I am sharing them anyway. LOL. If you have followed me for awhile, you know I have been a long-time shopper at Lane Bryant. Every year I put their swimwear to the test!

Hiking Red Rock in Lane Bryant Sculpting Leggings

Category: Plus size fashion
Lenth: Moderate
Content: There are  things I have always said that I wanted to do. Hiking? That was one of them. When I started my wellness journey in April of 2016, just the "idea" of going hiking was hard to comprehend. This is coming from the girl who would take her dog for a walk using an extendable leash... standing in one place and letting the dog only go as far as the leash would go because the walking was hard for me. For the last year and a half, there are times I've earmarked for a hike; milestones I said "let's hike to celebrate that" but it never happened. Two birthdays have come and gone and I hadn't given it a spin yet... I was tired of waiting. When Lane Bryant told me they had some new plus size activewear coming out, I didn't need an excuse to actually make it happen. Because that's what life is about, right? MAKE. IT. HAPPEN! SHOW UP FOR YOUR LIFE

The Longest (Plus Size Clothing) Love Affair of My Life: Kiyonna

Category: Plus size fashion
Length: Shorter
Idea: Can you remember the first time someone totally unrelated to you, told you that you looked pretty in something? A complete stranger paying you a compliment for no reason other than to express joy? I remember. And yes, this seems like a weird way to start a blog post, but since this is my blog I reserve the right to get a little weird.I can't remember a time, as a younger woman, that I genuinely felt pretty. As someone who has been varying degrees of plus size my entire life, my earliest "fashion memories" were pretty awkward moments like:Wearing a white babydoll dress with matching white bike shorts and a floppy hat (what, like you never saw Blossom on tv?) and thinking I felt really cool because I was wearing what everyone else was... only to be called the "marshmallow girl" by some jerks on my school bus.

How a Subscription Box Helps me to Dress My Soul

Category: Plus size fashion
Length: Moderate
Idea: Have you ever stopped to really wonder if you are dressing your SOUL alive? Sure, we see people wearing trends; many of us make our decisions based on what our friends wear, or what we see bloggers sport online, or what brands are pushing on us each season. But do you really LOVE that? Do those styles really speak to you? Do you know what you love?If you are anything like me, as a plus size woman, you may have had a bumpy road with style. As a larger plus size woman most of my adult life, my style philosophy seemed to be more Tim Gunn “make it work” than based on my true taste. It was always such a struggle to find things that really spoke to me, so I’ve always just made do with what I could find

In Search of Sensuality and in Search of Myself

This is a body in progress. This is 38. This is an unapologetic woman. This is me. Do I make you uncomfortable? Does this image of a larger woman, standing in her skin in a powerful and sensual way make you pause? I hope not, but there’s a good chance it does. Because this isn’t something we see every day. I know, even I paused the first time I scrolled through these pics and, hell, that’s MY body!I wasn’t anticipating the end result of these pictures.

Riding the Tongue - How I Move Through Times of Chaos

When you're in the middle of the rapids your gut instinct is to bail the canoe and flee to the side of the river to keep from being washed downstream. EXCEPT DON'T! I’m here to say, not only should you let the river move you, but you should grab a damn dingy and ride the rough water to smother parts of the river. Here's what I mean. When you’re in a time of chaos and change, you only have a few choices.
