Devil in a (plus size) Blue Dress

The term “sexy” gets thrown around pretty loosely these days. With so many definitions for the term, so many varied visuals associated with this one single word, it's a pretty diluted statement. After all, "sexy" isn't a one-size-fits-all type of descriptive. For example, Helen Mirren “sexy” is quite different than Kate Upton “sexy. Rap-video "sexy" is miles away from Oscar, red carpet "sexy."  So why can't we find a less generic term for such a robust word, one with so many endless interpretations? Think about Eskimos, who are surround by snow in their lives. "Snow" can mean a ton of different things, from whispy flakes to sloppy clumps. Therefor, in a cunning example of linguistic adaption, their language has a multitude of words for things falling under the "snow" category. If Eskimos recognize that subtle nuance requires semantic deference, why can't we do the same? Shouldn't we have  break down the word "sexy" to address the whole spectrum of the definition? From Jackie O pristine beauty to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Hottie? For the record, here's what  "sexy" means to me.Sexy is forgetting any inhibition you have and feeling like the best version of yourself. Sexy is showing the world your confidence from the inside out. It’s being proud of what you are. It is owning your space, your body and the air that you breath. It is doing ALL of this despite what size, shape, color or age in such a way that people can’t help themselves but to be drawn to you.Cue the Ambrosia Dress from Igigi. Available for $175 and in sizes 14-32. I paid full price for this bad boy. Yup, you betcha I did. The picture below was from a casino-themed fundraising event for a nonprofit group I work with. The shoes are from DSW.I can safely say wearing this plus size dress is the sexiest I’ve felt in a long time. I loved how the dress hugged my curves. Even my Wilson. I felt slinky. I felt strong. I felt all woman. And I was barely showing any skin. (Which brings me to another point- who says the one who shows the most skin is the sexiest? Pssh. Shape is sexy. Strategic skin is sexy. Let that one settle in for ya…)I bought this dress with a date in mind. The kind of date where a girl knows she wants to look ah-may-zing. For a guy whose socks I wanted to knock off. Except, the socks I knocked off were my own. The person I amazed was myself. Every minute I spent in this plus size cocktail dress I felt completely aware of myself, my body and my power in the best way possible.

Forgive the super shameless moment as I show you the backside of this dress. Which Is MAGIC! No seriously. Strategically placed seams and rushing? Helllooooooo! I am not even going to lie, I can tell you straight up I totally loved the way this dress shaped my rear. If it can do this on me, imagine what it can do for you!If you are in search for a eternally sexy cocktail dress, one that will leave them staring when  you walk by yet be tame enough to wear around colleagues and family, check this dress out!The Lowdown: Igigi Ambrosia Dress3 words I would use to describe this outfit are…Sexy, classic and feminine. The fit was…True to size if not a tad bit large. I am wearing a 3X. What I would change…The price. BUT I believe the dress was 100% worth it. This is a go-to cocktail dress that I will have for years.  The fit and style is completely perfect as is.
