Commitment to Myself + New Activewear From LIVI at Lane Bryant

#sponsored As part of my long-term commitment to my own growth, I am always looking for how I can RETURN to my self-love. I am also always looking for well-fitting and comfortable activewear that can help me in my journey. I am always happy to partner with Lane Bryant, who has been a longtime friend for me and has made several appearances on my social media. I picked TWO outfits from their newest LIVI collection and took them for a test drive.

I love perfectly imperfect photos that capture a moment for real.

Getting Outside to Breathe

I recently shared that I am working to center and uncovermyself on a deeper level; work and life and all this stuff has just beenspinning around in my head and I feel farther away from who I am than I have ina long time.  One of the things I am doingis moving every day, for at least 20 minutes. This is not about a formalworkout, this just about breathing in and out, moving my body, getting out of myhouse and, like today, getting some fresh air.

There’s a great park here in Las Vegas called Mountain's Edge. So I slipped on my new gear and headed out with my best friend to catch some sun, take a walk, get moving, and BREATHE.

I'm feeling soccer-mom chic in the greatest of ways here. Now, if I only I were a mom and had a child who played soccer..

The days in Las Vegas are getting a little warm, but one of the things I have ALWAYS loved from Lane Bryant is their activewear jackets. They make FANTASTIC (legit) activewear jackets and I have been wearing them for years.  This Wicking Active Jacket with Pleated Trim is thick (but not heavy) and in a great slate-greyish color. This is the kind of jacket you can throw on for your workout or while running errands and it will always serve you. I’m wearing this in a 22/24 and I feel the size is accurate.

A super comfy outfit you can wear working out and running errands!

A note about my size – in recent months, I’ve gained a little weight. I had been a size 18/20 but I snagged these in a 22/24. The leggings were all a little large on me, the tops were perfect. (That is because I am between sizes!)

The sun was out in FULL FORCE here -- imperfect picture but with sun rays that literally go for days!

This Eco-Chic Metallic Graphic Active Tank is TOO stinking cute for words. I’m feeling like there’s no way that photos can capture how cute it is. I love that the neck is high and you can wear a bra with this (try a racerback-style) and you can easily throw it on with jeans as much as you can with leggings for working out.

I also love that the sunshine insisted on coming through FULL FORCE for me at this moment. It was like, “Hey girl! You are not going to be perfect but, HELL YES YOU ARE GOING TO SHINE!”

The back of these leggings, though...

Let’s talk leggings. First, I like compression in my leggings, but not so much that I feel restricted. Second, I ALWAYS need a great pair of basic black leggings. Always. These Signature Stretch Active 7/8 Legging are an absolute essential and have a cute lace-up hem in the back for some extra kick.

The three of these pieces together are the kind of pieces you can wear from workout to running errands and lunch with friends and back.

Stretch and Sun

When was the last time you took your shoes off and planted your feet in the grass? I never do this. Ever. So when I was at the part I made a conscious effort to feel the ground under my toes.

I need to get outside more often. Actual fact.

I stretched. I did some Breath of Fire in Warrior Pose. I existed in the present, without worrying about the future or analyzing something from my past. Some cute dogs named Skywalker and Leia came by and I played with them. I laughed. I turned my phone off. I just… existed.

Some Kundalini breathing with my feet planted in the grass.

When I saw the back of this Eco-Chic Ruched-Back Tee I was obsessed. Literally. OB-SESSED. In fact, had Lane Bryant been selling this top in black I would have got a second one. LOOK AT THE BACK OF THIS SHIRT PEOPLE!!!!!

I really don’t need to say anymore. Business in the front, party in the back. I would say this top runs true to size, if not a tad bit small because of the ruching. If you want something more oversized, order up. It’s a lightweight top with a modest neckline and three-quarter sleeves.

OBSESSED WITH THIS SHIRT!

I wore this with their Eco-Chic Wicking Active 7/8 Legging in stunning and colorful Marble Print. I LOVE COLOR. I’m such a nerd. And, I’m never afraid to wear color on my body. These leggings (like the others I wore) had a nice thick waistband, which means NO ROLLING DOWN. The fabric was smooth and a bit slick, and very substantial. They were a bit large on me but, again, I believe that is because I am in between sizes.

Just because...

A note about Eco-Chic! You may be wondering, what does it mean when Lane Bryant says their styles are eco-chic? Items in this collection are created with super-soft REPREVE® fiber made from recycled plastic bottles. Each of the tee's contains 84% recycled plastic or 17 recycled plastic bottles. So... this shirt is 17 recycled plastic bottles. Whaaaattttt? How cool is that?
