Confidence Lessons from Kelly Augustine - A Chick Who Rules

Kelly is a rad, smart, awesome babe.

No, seriously, she is. I've had the pleasure of watching this bad-ass blogger as she's literally grown up before my marketing eyes. I first met her years ago when I was working for SWAK Designs. I was struck by her integrity. Yup, integrity. You wouldn't imagine that being hard to come by but, in this day and age, it is. I've watched her career grow and flourish, and her inspiration as a blogger take flight. Also she is kick ass at karaoke. I know  this from first hand experience. Kelly is a twenty-something born and raised in New York She has a penchant for fashion and NYC lifestyle and loves to share her interests and experience on her dynamic blog, KellyAugustine.com. She shares her personal fashion, fashion industry updates, and general musings that encourage women to live the fullest life they can. Here's a chance to get up close and personal with Kelly Augustine! xx Sarah

1) If you could go back in time and talk to yourself 10 years ago, what advice would you give based on what you know now?

I would tell myself that everything is going to be okay and that my body is a temple that should be cherished at all times.

2) If you could travel forward in time and talk to yourself 10 years from now, what advice would you give yourself?

I would say "See? I told you so!"

3) What does "confidence" mean to you?

To me, "confidence" is a lifestyle. It's not just about buying shapewear and throwing on a skin tight dress. Confidence is owning your body and also your mind - you can look and feel sexy in bodycon or a pair of sweatpants. You can own the room in a board meeting. You can go to an event alone and meet new people. Confidence is taking complete ownership of who YOU are, not just the outer appearance.

4) How do you feel about your body just as it is today?

As a body positive advocate, my answer is always "I love my body!!!". But as a woman who is very human, I would say that I'm not feeling too hot about my body today. I haven't been eating nutritionally sound foods or exercising, and my body is letting me know that it's not happy with my treatment of it. But to be clear, it's not about the weight, it's about my maintenance.

5) What is the one item of clothing you simply could not do without?

A great pair of jeans! For someone on the go like me, jeans are so flexible. I can throw on a pair of sneakers or a heel and be ready for anything!

6) What is the best style advice you ever received?

The one best piece of style advice you would give to someone? Be YOU and your confidence will shine right through.
